A native of Kensington, Maryland, Anabel Hering has always been drawn to competition and collaboration. A natural athlete, she realized her childhood dream of playing professional soccer and played in both Germany and the U.S. After her playing career, she focused her efforts on coaching, and became a successful D1 collegiate soccer coach. But when life took another turn, toward marriage and kids, Anabel shifted into residential real estate. It was through her work selling homes that she started to realize that her vision of creating functional, beautiful spaces for her clients was her true passion. Always drawn to fashion and design, she combined her love of architecture, form and function with her ability to ascertain the goals of her clients and launched Black Salt Home Design. As a completely self-taught entrepreneur, Anabel brings her competitive nature and collaborative team player qualities to every design project along with her expertise in homes since 2019. She understands that every client has a different blueprint for what makes a house a home, and her mission is to create a therapeutic sanctuary for her clients while creating a space of timeless luxury specific to them.

As a first generation of immigrant Cuban parents, Anabel comes from a household built on pride, honesty, and motivational drive. Her hard work ethic in all her projects is also a by-product of her experience as a professional athlete. Collaborative, competitive and creative, Anabel has found her true calling and welcomes the opportunity to help you find your own perfect sense of style and sanctuary.

When she’s not working, Anabel loves good food, traveling, and spending time with her husband, two children, and french bulldog.
